Last day in Udaipur/Ultimo dia en Udaipur

So, after checking out from the hotel we spent the morning walking around, Jane did some shopping. We then got a rickshaw to go see the Cenotaphs- amazing, cuppola roofed sort of mausoleums which have been built over a period of 350 years, one for each maharana ( I think?!?! or some rich or royal person anyway)- for those who know about my fascination with cemeteries, you would know how much I loved it. We then went into the City Palace Museum, bloody huge, amazing architecture; and most importantly went to the Government Museum- really small and run down, but hey, we went there to see the stuffed monkey holding a lamp and we got what we wanted! (no photos allowed, so I haven't got any proof). We then got another rickshaw to drive us around and had a look at some parks, gardens, fountains- and this is where the 14yo bicycle boy from yesterday inspired us to create a song dedicated to him; he would be proud, we know he would:) We went back to the hotel to watch Octopussy (a Roger Moore old James Bond movie, which because part of it was filmed in Udaipur they show the movie here every night EVERYWHERE). Then we caught an overnight bus and got stared at some more. We got to Jodhpur the next day (today) at 4:30am. Went to the train station, hang around until the bus ticket office opened (yes, the bus tickets are sold at the train station, not at the bus station, why wouldn't they?!?), bought ourselves tickets (leaving this arvo to Jaisalmer) and dropped off our backpacks there. We hang around the train station with Alejandro, the colombian guy from yesterday (who was on the same bus with us last night) and waited until daylight. The stations are packed here at that time in the morning, cause a lot of homeless people sleep either in the stations or just outside them, so it actually feels very safe to arrive to a station at any time, cause it's as busy as Town Hall station during peak hour. There was this old man who obviously slept the night there and was in no hurry to catch a train anytime soon, and he had this amazing loooooooooooooong hair, down to the floor... twice, if that makes sense. And he just pulled it up and twisted it around and made himself a turbant with his very own hair, it was so cool. And then he proceeded to do the same with his beard- undid it, we saw how long it was, and he again did it all up twisting it around.
Anyway, gotta go catch that bus to Jaisalmer now, so I'll tell about Jodhpur next time.
